Reham Mohamed, chair of Alexandria Petroleum Company’s said that her company refined more than 3.5 million tons of crude oil in fiscal year (FY) 2024/25 to produce various petroleum products and petroleum solvents for local industries.
She made this statement during the company’s general assembly, chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, to approve the company’s results of FY 2024/25.
The company also supplied petroleum refining and petrochemical companies with essential materials such as mazut, naphtha, asphalt, turbine oil, and kerosene, to be converted into high-value products to cover local consumption and demand in export destinations. This contributes to providing foreign currency and reducing the import bill.
Sayed reviewed the completed projects, valued at EGP 1.3 billion, to develop the company’s industrial security system, replace and upgrade production units, and improve energy consumption efficiency.
Additionally, Sayed reviewed the projects of the Geographic Committee for the Alexandria Petroleum Zone, which resulted from collaborative work and coordination with companies in the region. The most significant outcome of this collaboration was the completion of the development and rehabilitation of berths 1 and 2 at the petroleum basin in the port of Alexandria. The trial operations of the berths kicked off in June 2025.
