The first South Pars Gas Refinery achieved strong operational performance during the Iranian year 1403 (March 2024 – March 2025), producing over 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of sweetened gas, according to a report by SHANA. Ali Ahmadi, the refinery’s director, stated that this output exceeded its production target by 5% and represented a 9% increase compared to the previous year (1402/2023–24). The new prices will take effect on April 11, 2025, with a reassessment scheduled for six months from now. As Egypt’s gas output continues to dwindle, the country is becoming increasingly dependent on gas imports to ensure continued supplies to power plants and petrochemicals facilities, with the era of net-LNG exports firmly ending.
