Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, issued a reshuffling of assignments that included the heads of certain companies in the petroleum and mineral resources sector. The aim is to strengthen petroleum sites with the necessary competencies to achieve future objectives and to facilitate the exchange of expertise, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).
The reshuffle included positions left vacant, or soon to be vacant, as their holders retire.
Hebat Allah Mohamed Abdel Qader Ali Hassan has been appointed Chairperson and Managing Director of Nile Petroleum Company. She held several progressive roles within the sector, eventually serving as Assistant Executive Deputy for Foreign Trade at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) in 2020. Before her current appointment, she served as Assistant Chairman for Marketing at the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company (ECHEM).
Riham Mohamed Ali Abdel Fattah has been appointed Chairperson and Managing Director of the Suez Methanol Derivatives Company (SMD). She rose through various technical and managerial positions at ECHEM. In 2024, she transitioned to the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), where she served as Assistant Vice Chairman for Gas Planning, Projects, and Business Development.
Reda Mohamed Ali Ali Selim has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of the New Valley for Mineral Resources and Oil Clay (Wadico). He started his professional career within the sector as a geologist at the Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA). Before his current appointment, he served as Head of the Central Administration for Projects at the MRMIA in 2024.
Nasser Ibrahim Nasr Shahin has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of both Misr Phosphate Company and El Wady for Phosphate Industries and Fertilizers (WAPHCO). He began his professional career within the sector as a specialist at the MRMIA. In 2022, he was appointed Head of the Central Administration for Technical Services at MRMIA.
