Bahrain’s $7bn Bapco Modernization Project (BMP) is hitting its straps, with throughputs at the Sitra refinery increasing significantly in recent weeks. Exports from the refinery jumped to 340,000 b/d in September, well above the previous record of 267,000 b/d, according to data intelligence firm Kpler. Volumes are on track to surpass this figure in October, with exports averaging 384,000 b/d so far this month (see chart 1).
