Egypt’s installed wind capacity broke the 3GW mark in June after French firm Engie announced “the full commissioning” of its 650MW Red Sea Wind Energy project in Ras Gharib on the Gulf of Suez, boasting that it “is the largest operational wind farm in the Middle East and Africa.”
“Initially scheduled for the third quarter of 2025, the connection to the grid of the wind farm’s entire 650 MW of installed capacity was thus completed in June 2025,” Engie said on 1 July. (CONTINUED – 602 WORDS)
