Egypt LNG imports surged to a new all time high in 2025, with volumes more than tripling year-on-year to 8.92mn tons according to Kpler data.
LNG imports only resumed in 2024 for the first time in four years, but the return has been turbocharged by the pace at which domestic production is declining. After importing 2.79mn tons in 2024 (including via Jordan’s import terminal), few envisioned last year’s surge to 8.92mn tons.
