Yemen’s southern port city of Aden suffered a widespread blackout on 19-20 October amid fuel shortages. Aden is both the capital and largest city of the internationally recognized government-controlled areas in Yemen.
On 19 October, the General Electricity Corporation in the city announced that all power stations in Aden were offline, with only the nearby PetroMasila (Al Rais) power station running on a fraction of its 264MW capacity. (CONTINUED – 717 WORDS)
