Modern Gas conducted the first residential natural gas connection in Hammam City, Matrouh Governorate. The company plans to supply 8,000 homes with natural gas, making it the third city in the Governorate to receive natural gas.
This comes as part of the national strategy to reduce household use of liquefied natural gas (LPG) cylinders and ease pressure on the state budget.
Modern gas has extended an Intermediate pressure network with a length of 5142 meters with an operating pressure of 7 bar, and two horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crossings. It also has installed two gas regulators with a capacity of 1000 cubic meters per hour (cm/hr), and a low-pressure network with an operating pressure of 100 mm bar, with a length of 45641 meters.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources introduced a program allowing citizens in newly connected areas to pay connection fees in interest-free instalments of EGP 62/month over six years.
