Shell has appointed a new country chair to its business in Oman. Ali al-Janabi, has replaced Walid Hadi who held the role since 2019. Mr Janabi has considerable experience in the region, having previously led Shell’s operations in Iraq and the UAE.
Shell is arguably the most important IOC operating in Oman with a 34% stake the country’s largest and state-run hydrocarbons firm Petroleum Development Oman as well as a 30% in Oman LNG (see p11). It also operates key upstream assets including the 500mn cfd Mabrouk North East gas field in Block 10 and the Jaleel gas discovery in Block 11 (MEES, 23 May). (CONTINUED – 101 WORDS)
