Petroleum Marine Services Company (PMS), a state-owned company, announced that it has received an assignment order to execute marine works for Phase 12 of the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) natural gas field development project, on behalf of Burullus Gas Company. PMS will act as the general contractor under the Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Construction (EPIC) system, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).
According to the assignment order, PMS will install the required electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical connections in deepwater to link three new natural gas wells to production as part of Phase 12. The scope also includes installing three triple subsea tie-in structures (TSB) for the wells.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the MoPMR’s strategy to maximize natural gas production from existing fields. This initiative bolsters the national energy system, meets local market demand, and supports the state’s orientation toward sustainability in energy resources.
This assignment extends PMS’s record of achievements during Phases 10 and 11 of the WDDM project, where the company successfully laid two offshore power cables at depths reaching 660 meters and executed well tie-in operations at depths of up to 880 meters. These operations were completed with high efficiency and in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety, thereby supporting plans to increase production.
Assigning the works of Phase 12 to PMS reflects renewed confidence in its technical capabilities and accumulated expertise in executing deepwater projects. It also underscores PMS’s role as a key national partner in the development of offshore natural gas fields and in supporting Burullus Gas Company’s efforts to maximize production.
PMS affirmed that the project represents a new addition to its record of achievements in integrated offshore projects and strengthens its position as a leading national company in this field, relying on its specialized technical teams and advanced operational capabilities.
